  1. – Google services also use ‘NID’ and ‘ENID’ cookies on Google Search, and ‘VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE’ and ‘YEC’ cookies on YouTube, for analytics.

    – Depending on your ad settings, other Google services like YouTube may also use these and other cookies and technologies, like the ‘VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE’ cookie, for advertising.

    – Cookies called ‘VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE’ and ‘YEC’ serve a similar purpose for YouTube and are also used to detect and resolve problems with the service.

    – For example, the ‘VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE’ cookie may enable personalized recommendations on YouTube based on past views and searches.

  2. Hi Jacob, also for bandwidth – its applicability is very broad, but can’t be distilled from context directly. So I will change it to its highest order with comments.

  3. Are you sure it is for bandwidth? I think it’s for recommended videos on the homepage. When I delete it, the videos on the homepage are no longer related to what I just watched. It’s the only cookie that has this effect when deleted(in my experience).

  4. Hi Balu,

Thank you for your message. We shall do another check of this particular cookie.

However, as this concerns the maximum retention period (6 months), it could be the case that your browser already had this Cookie saved from when you visited the website at an earlier moment, which would explain why you see a different time period than the 6 months maximum listed here.

    Hope it helps/clarifies.
    Kind regards,
    Jarno
